Must Do Experiences at LSC After Dark

Need a night out…without the kids? Well I have the experience for you! LSC After Dark is a MUST DO adventure for adults. Book the babysitter, grab some friends, and head to Liberty Science Center for a night filled with fun, excitement, and SCIENCE!

For those that don’t know, Liberty Science Center is located in Jersey City, NJ overlooking gorgeous views of NYC and the Statue of Liberty. During the day, LSC invites guests of all ages to immerse themselves in the world of science. From animals and giant fish to hands-on experiments and interactive exhibits to live entertainment and planetarium shows, LSC has something for everyone. At night, however, is when the ultimate fun for adults 21 and up begins!
On the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, Liberty Science Center presents LSC After Dark. This themed event takes place 6pm-10pm and a ticket is required to attend. The first Thursday is more of a chill and relax vibe with delicious food, unique drinks at Bones’ Backyard Bar, and LIVE Space Talks. On the 3rd Thursday, make sure to bring your dancing shoes because LSC opens up the dance floor for even more excitement. Both evenings offer endless fun. Here are some of my recommendations of MUST DO experiences at LSC After Dark.

Explore the Infinity Climber

Have you ever been to Liberty Science Center and while watching your kids on the Infinity Climber wish you could go in there too? Well now you can and you don’t have to worry about the kids making fun of you! Exploring the Infinity Climber was one of my favorite experiences at LSC After Dark.

Enjoy a Laser Light Show

During LSC After Dark, guests can purchase an additional ticket to experience a laser light show inside the planetarium This is a one of a kind experience. During the last event I attended, my friend and I enjoyed a Bad Bunny show. Other shows have included Taylor Swift, Prince, and Pink Floyd.

Have a Cocktail

LSC After Dark takes cocktails to the next level. It is a science museum after all! Make sure to try one of the smoking cocktails or unique beer choices while you’re hanging out on the dance floor. Don’t forget to check out the unique food vendors too!

Dance, Dance, Dance

Speaking of dance floor…make sure to spend some time on the 2nd floor where you will find one the hottest DJs in town playing some of your favorite songs. Play lists will match the theme with other favorites thrown in the mix. It’s a great time to let loose and have fun! (Note: this experience only takes place on the 3rd Thursday of every month.)

Check Out the Exhibits

Now’s your chance to explore all that LSC has to offer without your kids tugging at your arm or fighting over who gets to go first. Adults love to play too right?! My friend and I had so much fun exploring the exhibits and engaging in hands-on activities. We also really took our time to explore and take-in the premium exhibit.

Dress to Impress

Each LSC After Dark event has a fun theme, and dressing the part is highly encouraged! Our very first LSC After Dark experience was in October 2019. It was a Stranger Things theme and Halloween costumes were encouraged. It was so much fun getting dressed up, and I loved seeing everyone else in their unique costumes. Whether it’s a disco, 90s, or magic theme, have some fun and get dressed up!
