If you are looking for a culinary experience that will engage all of your senses, then The Chocolatier is the place for you! This ALL NEW full-service restaurant, bar, and patio located in Hershey’s Chocolatetown at Hersheypark offers a “fun to table” experience the entire family will not soon forget. With its nostalgic decor mixed with modern flare, The Chocolatier offers a one of a kind dining adventure.
The Chocolatier is located in Hershey’s Chocolatetown on the 2nd floor above the Hersheypark Supply Co. It is open daily for food, fun, and, of course, chocolate. Diners do not need a ticket to Hersheypark to enter, and reservations are now available on their website. Here are some SWEET reasons to visit The Chocolatier during your next visit to Hershey, PA.
The View
The Chocolatier offers an amazing outdoor patio with seating for up to 150 people. While dining, guests will enjoy an incredible view of the iconic Carrousel as well as the Kisses Fountain and Candymonium. The patio also features a bar offering unique themed drinks like Reese’s Cupfusion Old Fashioned, The Frozen Chocolatier, and Great Beary Mojito. Another unique feature of the patio is the ride collection. Guests will have the opportunity to admire classic ride cars such as bumper cars.
Guests of The Chocolatier can enjoy a nice view of the Hersheypark Supply Co. from inside the restaurant. There are even some tables overlooking this amazing store. Have to wait for your table? Make sure to go shopping for your favorite Hersheypark gear!
The Decor
From the moment you enter The Chocolatier, you will be in awe! It offers a welcoming and comforting feeling as if to say, “You are home!” Hersheypark fans of all ages will truly appreciate the nods to classic rides like Tilt-a-Whirl and The Comet with their themed tables. Other tables feature the Hersheypark pinwheel design while some were hand-crafted by students from The Milton Hershey School.
I love that The Chocolatier highlights Milton Hershey’s important history which can be seen in a beautiful collection of pictures hung on the walls around the restaurant. Another unique feature is located near the restrooms which features a full timeline of Mr. Hershey’s life. It is amazing to see the impact Mr. Hershey had on this town, our country, and even the world!
The Carousel Bar is another MUST SEE when visiting The Chocolatier. It is an absolutely stunning centerpiece that truly embodies the spirit of Hersheypark. With gorgeous horses in the center, the Carousel Bar is definitely something to admire. Don’t forget to order one of the unique drinks too like S’mores Martini, Peanut Butter Colada, and 66 Horses – Luxardo Cherry Cream Soda.
The Menu
The Chocolatier menu is everything you would expect from a Hersheypark restaurant. It is a delicious mix of comfort food with uniquely crafted culinary dishes, all with a hint of chocolate (well maybe not all, but many of them offer a chocolatey inspiration). Here are some dishes I recommend:
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Hummus
- Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Infused Beef Chili
- Cocoa-Dusted Beef Short Ribs
- Chicken and Waffles
- Filet Mignon (with a Hershey’s Cocoa and Coffee rub)
- Mac & Cheese with Pulled Short Rib and Hershey’s Chocolate Barbecue Sauce
- Barbecue Short Rib Flatbread (pictured above)
Although everything on the menu is filled with bold, unique, and flavorful dishes, I highly recommend getting The Ferris Wheel Sampler during your first dining experience. Served on a ferris wheel replica, this appetizer comes with buffalo chicken dip, chicken tenders, soft pretzels, crispy mozzarella, and chocolate barbecue chicken wings.
And then there is dessert! The dessert menu is EPIC. We had the Chocolatier Cake which was a piece of chocolate chip graham cake topped with cookie dough ice cream, a soft chocolate chip cookie, and whipped cream sitting on a bed of decadent melted chocolate. There aren’t even words to describe how delicious this dessert was! We also tried the chocolate peanut butter layer cake. I cannot wait to go back and try one of the ginormous milkshakes and the Chocolate Fun-due!
The Service
Each and every staff member at The Chocolatier was friendly, upbeat, and clearly grateful and excited to be working at this amazing new establishment. Although there can be a long wait, The Chocolatier will take your name and number and text you when your table is ready. This allows guests to explore the park, visit Hershey’s Chocolate World, or go shopping while waiting.
