Must Do Fall Experiences in Hershey

In full disclosure, in exchange for membership, tickets and/or payment, we have entered into a partnership with this company to bring you their brain boosting experiences. All opinions are honest and our own.I absolutely LOVE the fall! Although I really enjoy the summer, there is nothing like the transition into fall with the changing leaves, crisp cool air, and the smell of pies in the oven. I also love to travel in the fall, and my favorite destination is Hershey, PA. The fall brings exciting and delicious events all around the town of Hershey. The spooktacular fun begins in early October and continues through Halloween. In this post, I want to share some of our MUST Do experiences in Hershey this fall.

Must Do Fall Experiences in Hershey, PA

Explore the Trick or Treat Trail

Hersheypark Treatville

Kids ages 12 and under are invited to Trick or Treat around Hersheypark and Chocolate World. In all, Treatville has 13 stops that offer delicious candy. Each child is provided a bag to collect the candy making it easier to carry all that loot around the park. Yes, it is ALL Hershey’s candy (and YES, I did take some from my kids’ bags when they weren’t looking)! Admission to Hersheypark is required to access the trail in the park, but no ticket is needed to enter Chocolate World.

Decorate Cookies at Hershey’s Chocolate World

Hershey's Chocolate World

This fall head to Hershey’s Chocolate World for a Halloween Cookie Decorating Workshop. This event takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in September and October. Guests can purchase a kit for $12.95 that includes 4 jack-o-lantern shaped cookies, 4 icing pens, sprinkles, and candy. You can decorate your cookies at Chocolate World or at home.

Ride Coasters in the Dark

You heard that right! During Hersheypark in the Dark, 5 coasters will be running with their lights OUT, and that includes Candymonium. This is an incredible experience, especially for thrill junkies. Don’t worry, you can also ride them during the light of day if the dark is too scary.

Win Spooktacular Prizes at Hersheypark

Hersheypark in the Dark prizes

My kids LOVE playing games at Hersheypark. There are so many to choose from so there is something for everyone in my family to play! What I love about Hersheypark in the Dark is that there are Halloween themed prizes. This adds to the fun and excitement of playing AND winning!

Experience the Pumpkin Palooza

If you love jack-o-lanterns, then you will LOVE the Pumpkin Palooza at the Hershey Gardens. This event takes place October 22, 23, 24, 29, and 30 from 9am-5pm, and kids are invited to arrive in costume. Guests will have the opportunity to explore over 100 magnificently carved and painted pumpkins along with live entertainment, food trucks, and more!

Check Out Creatures of the Night

ZooAmerica Owl

Pack those flashlights and head over to ZooAmerica for a night filled with thrills and chills! On select nights, guests can explore the zoo in the dark. This gives guests a firsthand look at how the animals behave at night. Admission to ZooAmerica is included with your ticket to Hersheypark.

Take a Spooktacular Chocolate Lab Class

This fall, have fun making (and eating) a delicious Halloween themed treat at the Hershey Story Museum. Each class is about 45 minutes long and is offered to individuals 4 years old and up. For each class, participants will make a delicious treat to take home. Each budding chef will also learn facts about chocolate and gain important cooking skills. Tickets must be purchased in advance and classes take place throughout the day. Some Halloween themed treats include chocolate cobwebs, batty bar, and spooky bark.

Snack on Mini Donuts (and other Fall Themed Treats)

Apple Pie Mini Donuts

I can’t say it enough, mini donuts are one the best treats to come to Hersheypark! This fall, make sure to try their apple pie flavor. I had them last year, and they were AMAZING! (Yes, I almost ate an entire bucket myself.) If you have a sweet tooth like me, then make sure to try all of the other amazing fall treats available during Hersheypark Halloween. These include Pumpkin King Size Shakes, Pumpkin King Size Donut, s’mores (of all kinds), and more!

Stay at the Hershey Lodge

Hersey Lodge in the Fall

There are 3 Hershey properties to choose from: Hershey Lodge, Hersheypark Camping Resort, and The Hotel Hershey. Although they are all amazing and offer endless fun, I recommend staying at the Hershey Lodge this fall. We stayed at the Lodge last October and had the BEST time. They offer so many exciting and interactive family friendly events and activities that kept us busy and entertained the entire weekend. Here is some of the fall fun you can enjoy:

  • Pumpkin painting
  • S’mores campfire
  • Themed scavenger hunts
  • Halloween movie night (kid friendly)
  • Themed crafts
  • Chocolate BINGO
  • Halloween Photo Spots

mini golf at The Hershey Lodge

In addition to fall themed activities, there are resort amenities that families will also love this fall. For instance, guests can enjoy FREE games of mini golf! My boys love playing mini golf at the Hershey Lodge. It is located outside and offers the perfect backdrop of changing leaves. The Hershey Lodge also offers Water Works, an indoor water park for all ages. Check out my video to learn all about this splashtastic experience!

Love Hersheypark in the Dark. You are correct that the mini donuts are the best treat in the park (ironically I was just eating some I got Saturday.)
