In full disclosure, we are being provided 4 tickets to Disney On Ice in exchange for our honest review.
Mommy University is incredibly excited to announce that we will be attending the opening night performance of Disney On Ice Presents Princesses and Heroes at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Like all Disney On Ice productions, this show is sure to provide a magical evening full of wonder and excitement for the entire family. What Mommy University really loves are all the amazing educational layers that are found in this show as well!
In Disney On Ice Presents Princesses and Heroes, families are transported into a enchanted world where heroes and hearts prevail. With the help of Tinker Bell’s magic pixie dust, we watch as some of our most cherished princesses, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White, embark on a beautiful adventure to find love. Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff will also join the fun as they demonstrate how love conquers all. These classic stories are told through the combination of breathtaking skating, amazing acrobatics, beautiful music and gorgeous set designs!
At Mommy University, we are huge fans of Disney! Not only do we love the magic and wonder of Disney, we also appreciate its educational and developmental value. Here are four educational moments that your family will experience at Disney On Ice:
Encourages an Appreciation of the Arts
Disney On Ice has superb choreography and the music is always impressive. Children will witness songs from their favorite movies incorporated with acrobatic ice skating that opens their eyes to the beauty of the arts. In previous productions of Disney on Ice, my children were mesmerized by the performance. It is a great introduction to a theatrical production as children are engaged and focused on the action. Don’t be surprised if your children ask to return to this spectacular show.
Family Fun for Everyone
Disney on Ice is designed for adults as much as children. The music is perfectly paired with breathtaking ice skating, and the stories it presents are positive and uplifting. Children and adults can relish in a program that offers each family member features that they will enjoy. At the same time, there is nothing like the glimmer in your child’s eye when they see something magical. Attending programs like Disney On Ice are wonderful opportunities for family bonding. At 2.5 years old, my daughter remembers this experience and is looking forward to the next one.
Enhances Development
Attending Disney On Ice helps enhance a child’s development in many areas. This is a theatrical program that encourages language development as children learn new vocabulary words. You can also talk to them about the story lines to foster their comprehension which is a skill they will need to be successful school. Children are developing their understanding of the world that surrounds them and by talking about the story afterwards it helps them increase their self-awareness.
Encourages Hope
The magical world of Disney encourages children to believe that anything is possible. Children need to have hope because when they are challenged and struggling that belief will give them strength to overcome obstacles. The story lines in Disney support the idea that love conquers all which is a positive message that children can enjoy, appreciate and understand.
These are only a few reasons to encourage you to explore how this show can promote positive teachable moments. We will be posting photos from the opening night show on January 15th to our Facebook page and Twitter account to highlight the performance. As well, we look to highlight more educational opportunities found within Disney on Ice: Princesses and Heroes.
