Amazing Places to Go Ice Skating in NJ
Aspen Ice Arena
Located in Randolph (Morris County), Aspen Ice Arena offers a Learn To Skate USA program as well as public skating, figure skating and even DJ Skate on weekends. Learn to Skate hockey programs are also available for children as young as 4 years old. They also offer hockey leagues for kids and adults.
Bridgewater Sports Arena
Bridgewater Sports Arena offers public skating, Learn to Skate programs, freestyle skating sessions and Special Olympics Figure Skating. Want to play ice hockey? Bridgewater Sports Arena offers youth and adult hockey leagues as well as ice hockey clinics, open hockey and family open hockey.
Clary Anderson Arena
Clary Anderson Arena, located in Montclair, can meet all your skating needs. They offer lessons, public sessions, rink rental, youth and adult hockey leagues, figure skating and freestyle sessions.
Essex County Codey Arena
Codey Arena is located at South Mountain Recreation Complex which can be found right next to Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. Codey Arena offers skating programs for all abilities, interests and ages. They have Learn to Skate programs, a synchronized skating team, a skating club, ice hockey and public skating sessions. They even have Parent and Tot skating classes, a Theater on Ice team which is a competitive theatrical skating troupe and a speedskating club. Codey Arena also offers a Special Skaters Program for individuals with disabilities.
Flemington Ice Arena
Flemington Ice Arena offers ice skating for all ages and ability levels. Their Learn To Skate USA program begins at age 2.5 years old. They also have figure and freestyle skating as well as hockey clinics, learn to play programs and a hockey league. You can also learn to play hockey for FREE with the free hockey pass that offers 3 FREE learn to play hockey classes.
Floyd Hall Arena
Floyd Hall Arena is located in Little Falls on the campus of Montclair State University. They offer skating fun for all ages including public skating, Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs, youth and adult hockey leagues and summer camps.
Fritz Dietl Ice Rink
Fritz Dietl Ice Rink is a family owned and operated ice rink located in Westwood. This facility offers public skating sessions, figure skating, lessons, parties and stick time.
Hollydell Ice Arena
Hollydell Ice Arena, located in Sewell, is the home to the Hollydell Hurricanes hockey league. They also offer a Jr. Hurricanes program, Learn to Play Hockey programs, camps and more. Public skating sessions, figure skating and Learn to Skate programs are also available.
Howell Ice Arena
Howell Ice Arena, found at Howell Athletic Complex, offers skating for all ages. Guests can enjoy Learn to Skate programs, figure skating, public skating and freestyle. Hockey fans can enjoy youth and adult leagues, open hockey, camps and clinics.
Ice House
Located in Hackensack, Ice House offers 4 NHL size rinks making it the largest facility of its kind in the Tri-State area. Ice House offers public skating sessions, figure skating, skate camp, Learn to Skate programs and birthday parties. As for hockey, they are the home of the North Jersey Avalanche! Plus, they offer hockey lessons, camps, clinics and youth and adult leagues.
Ice Land Skating Center
Ice Land Skating Center, located in Hamilton, has a wonderful Skating Club that offers Learn to Skate programs, figure skating and freestyle skating. They also offer Tots Stars Skate and Create, a unique program for preschoolers that includes games, songs, skating and more. Learn to Play hockey programs are also available along with hockey leagues.
Igloo Ice Skating Rink
Located in Mt. Laurel, Igloo Ice Skating Rink boasts 2 NHL regulation ice rinks allowing for endless skating fun and learning. They offer public skating sessions, Learn to Skate lessons, hockey leagues, open hockey, freestyle and birthday parties. They even have a curling club!
Jersey Shore Arena
With 3 NHL size ice skating rinks, Jersey Shore Arena in Wall has all your skating needs! Guests can enjoy public skating, Learn to Skate programs, figure skating, freestyle and DJ skate nights. Hockey players can enjoy open hockey, learn to play programs, camps, clinics and leagues.
Mackay Ice Rink
Located in Englewood, Mackay Ice Rink offers skating for all ages, interests and abilities. This open air, sheltered facility is open for public skating, parties, winter camps and lessons through March. Guests can sign up for Learn to Skate programs, hockey clinics and hockey leagues.
Mennen Sports Arena
Located in Morris Township, Mennen Sports Arena welcomes over 1 million visitors every year to enjoy their incredible ice skating rink. They offer public skating, Learn to Skate programs, Friday night skating with a DJ, hockey and more. They even offer speed skating lessons! To make Mennen even more exciting, their staff consists of Olympic medalists!
Mercer County Skating Center
Mercer County Skating Center is an open air, sheltered skating rink located in Mercer County Park in West Windsor. Guests can enjoy public skating sessions as well as lessons through Mercer Skating School. The rink is also available for hockey games and practices as well as birthday parties. Public skating is available through March 9.
Newport Skates
Newport Skates is an outdoor skating rink located in Jersey City on the waterfront. It is open through March. Guests can enjoy public skating sessions as well as lessons.
Ocean Ice Palace
Ocean Ice Palace in Brick offers a wide variety of skating experiences. Guests can enjoy Learn to Skate programs, Learn to Play Hockey, open hockey, public skating, open stick sessions and birthday parties. They also have a Girls Rock the Ice program. What makes Ocean Ice Palace really unique, however, is their bumper cars on ice! It is NJ’s FIRST ice bumper cars, and it can be enjoyed year round!
ProSkate Ice Arena
Located in Monmouth Junction, ProSkate Ice Arena offers public skating, Learn to Skate programs, Intro2Hockey Program and hockey leagues. They also offer the Star Dazzlers Synchronized Skating program as well as homeschool and tiny tots programs.
Roosevelt Park Family Skating Rink
Located within Roosevelt Park in Middlesex County, the Family Skating Rink is an outdoor ice rink that is open through March. It offers public skating sessions as well as group lessons. Private rink rentals are also available. (In the spring, the rink turns into an outdoor roller skating rink!)
Skylands Ice World
Located in Stockholm, Skylands Ice World offers 2 NHL-size ice skating rinks along with a Pro Shop, Performance Training Center, Top Tier Dance Academy and ProVere Physical Therapy. Skylands Ice World offers a Skating Academy which features Learn to Skate programs, figure skating, synchronized skating and summer camps. The Skylands Hockey Program offers youth, girls and adult leagues as well as drop-in hockey, camps, clinics and a special needs program.
Twin Oaks Ice Rink
If you or your child is interested in playing hockey, then Twin Oaks Ice Rink in Morristown is the place for you! They are a proud partner of the New Jersey Devils offering hockey programs for adults and youth. They offer private lessons, open hockey, clinics, camps and leagues.
Union Sports Arena
Union Sports Arena is an incredible facility that offers public skating, figure skating, freestyle skating and Learn to Skate programs. They also have hockey leagues for kids, families and adults. Head to the Westfield Rink and you can even try curling or drive a Zamboni!
Warinanco Sports Center Ice Skating Rink
Outdoor skating has been a beloved pastime at Warinanco Park in Union County since 1961. In 2017, a brand new indoor sports center was built which includes an indoor skating rink as well. Now guests can skate indoors or outdoors during the winter months. Warinanco Sports Center offers lessons, open skating sessions, open hockey and hockey programs.
WinterFest Ice Skating Rink
Winterfest Ice Skating Rink is an outdoor rink located at Cooper River Park in Camden County. It is open for skating November 30 – February 18. In addition to open skating, WinterFest also offers skating lessons and intro to curling.
