The circus is coming! The circus is coming!
At Mommy University, we LOVE the circus. It is a fun and exciting event that the entire family can enjoy. Watching the wonder in my children’s eyes and smiles on their faces as each performer enters and each animal travels around the ring reinforces that this is a unique experience. The circus promotes an appreciation for not only theatre but for animals and people of varied cultures, backgrounds and talents. The Big Apple Circus brings performers from around the world!
There are also so many developmental benefits of enjoying a performance, especially one like the Big Apple Circus. While at a show, kids are learning to focus and pay attention which, let’s face it, can be a struggle for little ones. They are also becoming aware of socially appropriate behavior. In addition, the circus helps enhance language development as kids learn new vocabulary. Parents can also talk to their children about what they see and hear which enhances their receptive and expressive language skills. Lastly, a child’s imagination and creatively is encouraged with each new animal and breathtaking trick. Since the audience sits within 50 feet of the performance each child has an up close view of the entire performance!
This February, the Big Apple Circus is proud to present The Grand Tour at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ. From February 12, 2016 through March 13, 2016, families can enjoy a breathtaking, entertaining and comical show. What’s even more exciting is that this magical performance will be experienced under the Big Top! This allows children to step back in time when a circus used to be presented in this fashion. Conceived and created by Joel Jeske and directed by Mark Lonergan this show will bring your family joy, laughter and amazement. Families will also enjoy the wonderful choreography from Antoinette DiPietropolo. The set design by Maruti Evans and costume design by Oana Botez will transport the audience to the roaring 20’s.
The Big Apple Circus is not only an amazing theatrical performance, it is affordable too with ticket prices starting at only $25! Plus, children under 3 are always FREE when they are on the lap of a paying adult! Tickets can be purchased online at www.bigapplecircus.org . You can also visit the Circus Box Office in front of the Big Top beginning February 12, 2016. For Mommy University readers, use promo code BIGAPPLE to save 20% off tickets (that’s not just off one ticket, but the whole purchase on select shows and seats and conditions apply).
