The wave of sweltering heat will soon be in the Garden State. The days when it feels like a 110 degrees in the shade and even the refrigerator wants to take a vacation will soon be upon us. Lucky for us, there are hidden places of relief that have been called “splash pads” or “spraygrounds.” They are the perfect solution for cooling down.
These water playgrounds are great for young children who don’t know how to swim or for a mixed age group. Most times they are enclosed which means the kids have obstacles to getting lost. Usually next to a playground or a park, these splashtastic places offer an additional opportunity for children to burn off energy or develop their gross motor skills. An added bonus is that there are a lot of FREE or low cost options. Please note: We are not listing splash pads or spraygrounds that require residency to gain access.
