The recently released Octonauts 12 Rescue Mission DVD offers new underwater adventures with our favorite explorers. The rescue missions included on this DVD are: Mariana Trench Adventure, Barracudas, Artificial Reef, Siphonophore, Urchin Invasion, Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, Pelicans, Red Rock Crabs, Loggerhead Sea Turtle, Harbor Seal, Yeti Crab and Over Under Adventure. It has a run time of 160 minutes total.
Octonauts follows a team of animated adventure heroes who dive into action whenever there is trouble under the sea. In a fleet of aquatic vehicles, they rescue amazing sea creatures and explore incredible new underwater worlds, and often save the day before returning safely to their home base, the Octopod. My children loved learning all about fish, camouflaging and red rock crabs.
3 Reasons Octonauts 12 Rescue Missions
Encourages Learning Through Fun
Introduces Scientific Concepts
While watching the Octonauts DVD, my children were introduced to a lot important concepts such as ocean science, life science and ecosystems. During the musical creature reports, my children learned facts about animals featured in the episode. For example, my son was very interested in learning about the Loggerhead Sea Turtle and his ecosystem. While the show is animated, in the Creature Report segment, they will see the real life creatures.
Promotes Environmental Awareness
I love when my children enjoy a television program that encourages them to explore the natural world. After watching the episodes, my children had a lot of questions about taking care of the ocean and protecting reefs. This will definitely lead to a family trip to the local aquarium.
Encourages Team Work
The Octonauts is a wonderful animated series that explores the diverse creatures of the sea while incorporating positive life lessons such as teamwork and the importance of working together. I loved that the entire team came together to save the harbor seals in one of the episodes. The Octonauts team is filled with characters that reinforce collaboration and cooperation.
