“Every child is an artist.” -Pablo Picasso
Children may gravitate to drawing, painting, knitting or even cooking and there are many toys that help introduce or further explore this world of possibility. Every child is an artist and every artist should have tools to expand their craft.
We are providing a sampling of toys that we saw featured at Toy Fair 2015 that helps spark imagination, is a great beginner toy, or is a high quality toy that will be appreciated by any budding Picasso.
Brain Boosting Art Toys found at Toy Fair NY 2015
Outdoor Chalk Set (Faber Castell)
Thankfully spring and warmer weather is finally here and our first reminder was stopping by the Faber Castell booth. With brightly colored DIY sunglasses to new terrariums, it was the Outdoor Chalk Set that caught our attention and here is why: bright-colored quality chalk, soft cushion pad and a pinch-free grip that enables children to draw more easily. We tested the chalk which does require us to exert a lot of force as some other chalk brands might.
Safari Felt Kit (Creativity for Kids)
This kit is a great arts and crafts product that contains stiff felted pieces that when children put together becomes animals which they can easily decorate with felt stickers. This is the perfect project after visiting the zoo and can be followed up with placing animals around the home and hosting a safari hunt.
Sew Cool Sewing Studio (Spin Masters)
Creative arts are not limited to paper and the Spin Master’s Sew Cool sewing machine raises new possibilities for children to express their artistic side. Children ages 6 and older can use a sewing machine to make their own pillows and projects. This is a wonderful introduction to sewing as well as developing a passion for textile appreciation.
Mess Free Glitter (Melissa & Doug)
Melissa & Doug is always looking for innovative toys which is sometimes inspired by Melissa’s projects with her own children. The release of their Mess Free Glitter is going to be appreciated by many parents. The glitter is on a sheet which can be adhered to the foam stickers and will not spread over your floor, walls, and ceilings.
Cling Creator (Crayola)
If you love the look of cling decorations on your window, then consider the Cling Creator which enables children ages 8 and older to make their own window clings. What I liked about this toy is that they provide you molds that can be used or you can use the clay to make your own. Endless possibilities that are quickly and easily appreciated on the window, mirror, or any flat surface.
This is not a sponsored post. We believe is learning is achieved through play and we love toys.
