As a full-time working mom, I often get overwhelmed with the homemaking part of my life. I am great at scheduling out activities for the kids, planning family getaways and organizing playdates. I can even put together some clever crafts, but deciding on what to have for dinner is often an anxiety provoking experience for me.
At a recent blogging conference, I was introduced to Savory Magazine from GIANT Food Stores. Their motto is “Fast, Fresh and Easy.” What mom wouldn’t love a magazine that offers that as their mission? The Savory writers also pride themselves on offering money-saving tips and ideas without sacrificing taste, health and all the little details in between. I was instantly hooked on Savory Magazine!

I have enjoyed the paper copy and the desktop version on my laptop, both offering great experiences. I love being able to flip through pages of a magazine especially while sitting on my couch or before bedtime. I also appreciate being able to pull up Savory Magazine anytime I want from my tablet. This allows me to quickly look up recipes and ideas when I am out or at a friend’s house. The versatility is perfect for a mom who is always on the go like me!
What I love most about Savory Magazine, however, is that it is inspiring. Through the mouth-watering recipes, money-saving tips and helpful homemaking advice, I have become inspired to step up my game at home especially in the kitchen!
4 Ways Savory Magazine Inspires Readers
Inspires Cooking
As someone who does not frequently create new or exciting meals in the kitchen, Savory Magazine has inspired me to put on my apron and get to work. Each recipe goes through an in-depth approval process so I know each meal will be delicious (as long as I follow the instructions). Each meal also uses items available at Giant Food Stores making the shopping/preparation process much easier and faster. What I also love is that each recipe tells you the prep time and cooking time. This helps me better decide what to make based on my family’s schedule. I also love all the pictures of the meals. I find it very difficult to cook a meal without seeing a picture of the final product, and the pictures in Savory Magazine will make your mouth water!
Inspires Creativity
Savory Magazine has inspired me as it will inspire others to be more creative in the kitchen. It is very easy to fall into the routine of the same meals each week that offer little variety or imagination. Flipping through the pages of Savory Magazine has taught me so many new ways to use food we already love. For instance, in the August/September issue, Savory provided 4 new, easy and healthy ways to use zucchini, while the November/December issue provides 4 delicious and unique ways to use cranberries as well as 4 ways to make stuffing!

Inspires Frugal Living
While reading Savory Magazine, readers will be inspired to save with a variety of tips and ideas. The saving starts immediately when you pick up your magazine for FREE using your GIANT card. Then, as you flip through the pages, you will find a wide variety of coupons to cut out and use in the store. Readers will also learn great ways to make meals last longer. For example, in the August/September edition, there was a Cook Once, Eat Twice article showing two delicious ways to use Bolognese sauce.

As I flip through the pages of Savory Magazine, I am inspired to try something new. I am inspired to not only try new food, but to make it too. I never had Bacon and Pineapple Skewers but it looks amazing and will be perfect on the menu for our next party. How delicious does a Spinach, Brie and Ham Wrap with Apple Butter sound? So amazing that I am determined to make it myself! On almost every page of Savory Magazine you will find something that will inspire you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new!
