Since 1939, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has served to memorialize baseball history as well as educate a new generation on the cultural significance of the sport. As you stroll through this incredible space, you will find over 300 plaques honoring the greatest baseball players that ever played this beloved sport. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum also offers fun programs and events this summer that will engage the entire family. You can visit the museum year-round, but make sure to make the pilgrimage to the annual Hall of Fame Induction Weekend at least once.

The Farmers’ Museum

One of the country’s oldest living history museums, the Farmers’ Museum, is more than just exhibits showcasing agricultural heritage. There are also demonstrations, hands-on activities and special events that give families a first-hand experience of life on a working farm in a rural village circa 1845. This museum offers a fun and interactive way for kids to learn about and gain an appreciation for history.

This incredible location started with a family-run mill, back in 1856. Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard has become a culinary destination, with a cider-making tour, tractor play area and ample samplings of fruit, cheeses, dips, spreads, sweets and, of course, that delicious homegrown apple cider. Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard also offers some wonderful end-of-summer events like Cooperstown Coffee & Cars, Taste of Fly Creek Series and Family Farm Day.

Beautiful scenery is your backdrop to all this rich history and culture. There are several state parks with their own recreational options, and Otsego Lake is at the center of it all.
